The administration named Shaukat Tarin as the head of a subcommittee of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Thursday to guarantee he remained part of the decision-making process, despite a court ruling prohibiting unelected lawmakers from heading cabinet committees.
According to a statement published by the Cabinet Division, Prime Minister Imran Khan reorganised the cabinet’s ECC and appointed Economic Affairs Minister Omar Ayub as its chairman in place of Tarin.
