The Nobel Prize for Chemistry has been awarded to Moungi Bawendi, Louis Brus, and Alexei Ekimov. Hans Ellegren, secretary general of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, said that this year’s prize was about their discovery in nanotechnology. “The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023 rewards the discovery and development of quantum dots, nanoparticles so tiny that their size determines their properties,” he said.
