Health workers in Gaza from the UK charity Medical Aid for Palestinians have implored the international community to bring about an end to the war, as the death toll rose to 39,929 on Tuesday. Fikr Shalltoot, the charity’s Gaza director, said Palestinians had been through “over 10 months of hell” and had lost trust in the international community. “Do you know what it means to lose 40,000 of your people? The children will never grow up, they will never go to school or university” she said.
