It emerged on Monday that a collection of NATO member states had begun two days of training drills in the Baltic Sea region. The transatlantic military alliance proceeded with shoring up its eastern defense in the face of Russia’s offensive in Ukraine. Air forces from Hungary, Germany, the Czech Republic, the UK, Italy, Turkey, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are taking part in the exercises. NATO candidate Finland is also involved in the drills.
