On Friday, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Kremlin stated. Putin laid bare that Moscow was interested in working closely with Qatar to ensure stability in the global gas market, the statement added. Putin also congratulated Qatar on hosting the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which kicks off this weekend.
