Funding shortages may affect the UN’s ability to maintain aid flows at target levels throughout the Gaza ceasefire deal, a UN official said. Daily deliveries have surged since the ceasefire deal took effect on Sunday, according to UN data. Aid has passed the target of 600 lorries a day, set out for the first seven weeks of the truce. Muhannad Hadi, UN humanitarian co-ordinator for Palestine, told Reuters he was “very happy” with how the past few days had gone, but raised concerns about funding.
