French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized his country’s support for a call by US, Egyptian and Qatari mediators for Israel and Hamas to resume ceasefire talks on August 15. “The war in Gaza must stop. This must be clear to everyone,” Mr Macron said on X. “It is crucial for the people of Gaza, for the hostages, and for the stability of the region, which is at stake today.
