Lebanon has warned Hamas not to conduct operations that compromise Lebanese security and sovereignty, Beirut’s supreme defence council said on Friday. The comments came at the first meeting of the council since the election of President Joseph Aoun in January. Mr Aoun, the former army commander, led the meeting, which was also attended by senior government figures including Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
