Lebanese President Joseph Aoun discussed the situation in southern Lebanon and the future of United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) operations with the commander of UN peacekeepers during mounting difficulties facing the force’s movements in the area. Aoun met Unifil chief Major-General Diodato Abagnara and UN special coordinator Imran Riza, according to a presidency statement. Discussions addressed “the difficulties and harassments” facing the peacekeeping mission’s movements in the area of operations.
