Israel’s war cabinet met to discuss a Qatar-proposed hostage exchange deal which has been gaining traction in government circles, according to a report from the Kan public broadcaster. The cabinet instructed Mossad chief David Barnea to discuss the Qatari hostage deal, Kan reported. The Qatari deal, whose finer details remain unknown, is aiming to halt hostilities for “a few weeks”, according to statements by senior Israeli officials carried by the Jerusalem Post.
