An Israeli soldier was killed and several were wounded in southern Gaza, the military said. It raised the Israeli death toll in the ground offensive against Hamas to 234. The soldier was identified as Staff Sgt Noam Haba, 20, of the Paratroopers Brigade’s 202nd Battalion.
