The chief of the Israeli army’s ground forces, Maj Gen Tamir Yadai, is resigning from his position due to personal reasons, according to Israeli media. He has served as the head of the ground forces for the past three years. Army Chief of Staff Lt Gen Herzi Halevi and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant approved Maj Gen Yadai’s request, The Times of Israel reported. Maj Gen Yadai is expected to step down within the coming weeks once a replacement officer is found.
