The Israeli military said on Friday it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen, where the Houthi rebels recently claimed responsibility for a projectile aimed at Israel. “Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted,” before entering Israeli territory, the Israeli army said. Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis have not claimed responsibility for Friday’s launch, but said on Sunday they had fired a “hypersonic missile” towards Nevatim airbase in Israel’s Negev Desert.
