Israel has published photos of Israeli tanks and flags on the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing, which connects the enclave with Egypt. It said it took control of the vital crossing overnight. Palestinian media reported that Israeli tanks launched artillery shells at buildings at the border crossing, which has been used to evacuate sick Palestinians and foreign nationals.
