Israel ordered the evacuation of large areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Wednesday, the United Nations office said. The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) added that Israel had released maps showing new areas covering about 20 percent of Khan Younis, the largest city in southern Gaza, that had been marked for evacuation. The area also included 32 shelters that housed more than 140,000 displaced people – most of whom fled the fighting in northern Gaza, it added.
