Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Defence Minister Israel Katz, have ordered a “delay” in the release of 110 Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons, hours after eight hostages, including three Israelis, were released from Gaza on Thursday. In a statement, Mr Netanyahu’s office said the Palestinian detainees will not be released “until the safe exit of our hostages is guaranteed” in the coming days. Mr Netanyahu said earlier that he viewed with “great severity” chaotic scenes from the release of the Israeli hostages, which included big crowds gathering around the vehicles carrying them.
