Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Wednesday said he welcomed the resignation of army intelligence chief Aharon Haliva, and said his replacement must build a “deadly” army. “The Chief of Staff and those who failed must not be the ones who appoint the replacements who will be in their likeness and image,” he added in a post to X. “A new command is needed from among the commanders who have proven themselves under fire to form a large, offensive and deadly army,” he added.
