Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani condemned US air strikes against an Iran-backed militia as a breach of the country’s sovereignty and said Washington acted without informing Baghdad. Mr Al Sudani condemned the strikes on the Jurf Al Sakhar area, south of Baghdad, and said they “took place without the knowledge of Iraqi authorities, in violation of its sovereignty”. Kataib Hezbollah, which has launched regular attacks on US forces throughout the country, said five of its members were killed in the strikes.
