An Iranian parliamentary committee has approved the main principles of a strategic plan aimed at managing the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, state-affiliated Tasnim news agency reported on Friday. Valiollah Bayati, spokesman for the Parliament’s Committee on Councils and Internal Affairs, said the committee reviewed the proposed legislation and approved its general framework after hearing members’ views. He added that seven of the plan’s 14 articles had also been approved.
