Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz said a Palestinian state would mean an Iranian base in Gaza and the West Bank, just like in Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq. “Iran and Hamas have taken over the Palestinian issue,” Katz said on X. This would threaten population centres, flight paths, shipping routes, and economic hubs in Israel, he said. “We cannot let this happen,” he added.
