The intensive phase of Israel’s war with Hamas militants in southern Gaza would end soon, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said. “We made it clear that the intensive manoeuvring stage would last for approximately three months,” Mr Gallant told a news briefing. “In southern Gaza, we will reach this achievement and it will end soon,” he added. In recent weeks, the army has increased its military operations and bombardments in Gaza’s southern cities of Khan Younis and Rafah.
