Dozens had been killed in overnight air strikes on the Gaza Strip, Palestinian media reported, just hours before a temporary truce was due to begin. Air strikes were “violently concentrated” in the south of the enclave, the Wafa news agency reported, with a “belt of fire” seen in the southern city of Khan Younis. Four people were killed in the bombing of a house in Deir Al Balah, central Gaza, while dozens of others were killed and many more injured in strikes on homes in Sheikh Radwan, Gaza City.
