The World Bank predicted that inflation in Pakistan would be at a high level of 29.5% by June. It also said that there was a delay in adopting a strict fiscal policy. In its Pakistan Development Update Report, it emphasized on sustainable reforms to overcome the economic crisis. It added that inflation in Pakistan had been attributed to increase in energy and food prices, slow economic activity, lack of confidence, restrictions on imports and floods
