The Indian plane entered Pakistani airspace with the authorization of the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan (CAA).
The Indian plane flew from Srinagar to Sharjah, according to civil aviation officials. A flight from Srinagar to Sharjah was being operated by an Indian private airline. Pakistani airspace was also used by an Indian plane, the Airbus 320. The passenger plane took off two days earlier from the Lahore region. According to civil aviation officials, special permission was sought from the Indian plane when it passed over Sharjah, and the CAA granted the Indian airliner’s request to use Pakistani airspace.
