Washington: On September 13, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) confirmed that it would be expanding its lending toolkit to help countries hit by the food crisis. According to the statement, the initiative includes a new “food shock window,” which would provide emergency financing. IMF executive board members reviewed the proposal at an informal session on Monday.
