About 127 million people were registered to cast ballot, including five million first-time voters. Approximately 44 percent of the population – 56 million people – are between the ages of 18 and 37. As we reported earlier, the turnout was nearly 48 percent at 36,000 polling centres as of 2pm (08:00 GMT), but it could rise.
