The formation of a new international maritime coalition would not stop Yemen’s Houthi rebels from attacking ships in the Red Sea, a senior group official said. “The US-formed coalition is to protect Israel and militarise the sea without any justification, and will not stop Yemen [the Houthis] from continuing its legitimate operations in support for Gaza,” Houthi spokesman, Mohammed Abdul Salam, said. “Yemen’s naval operations aim to support the Palestinian people in confronting the aggression and siege on Gaza,” he added.
