Houthis claim responsibility for missile attack on Israel as violence escalates

The Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for a missile launched towards Israel, the third such attack in 24 hours. Earlier, Israel said it intercepted a missile fired from Houthi-controlled territories of Yemen. Air raid sirens sounded across Israel and no casualties were reported. US-led forces have been escalating attacks against Houthi areas, killing dozens of people.The Houthis began firing missiles towards Israel and in the Red Sea in November 2023. The rebels say the attacks are in retaliation against Israeli bombardment of Gaza since October 7, 2023.
