Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem called on the Lebanese government to hold “intensive discussions” to “restore sovereignty”, stressing the need for diplomacy and strengthening the army’s defensive strategy. “All the problems we suffer come from the enemy, the occupation and the US support for it,” he said in a speech. US envoys Tom Barrack and Morgan Ortagus were due in Beirut on Monday evening after meetings in Israel.
