A senior commander of the armed wing of Hamas was one of four leaders killed in Israel’s war on Gaza, the militant group said. Ahmad Al Gandour was a “member of the military council and the commander of the North Brigade,” the Ezzedine Al Qassam Brigades said in a statement on its Telegram channel. He is the highest-ranking member of the group known to have been killed in the Israel-Gaza war, which was sparked by Hamas attacks on Israeli settlements on October 7, in which 1,200 people were killed and 240 abducted.
