Hamas negotiators left Cairo on Sunday without any signs of a breakthrough on an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, with the main hurdle to finalizing the deal lying in Israel’s reluctance to commit to ending the war, sources told The National. “The movement’s delegation had delivered the movement’s response to the mediator brothers in Egypt and Qatar, where in-depth and serious discussions took place with them,” Hamas said in a statement.
