The Israeli army has said it killed Hamas commander Ahmed Hassan Alsauarka in an air strike in the area of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza. The army said on Thursday that Mr Alsauarka was a squad commander in the Nukhba Forces who attacked communities in southern Israel on October 7. “Alsauarka led and directed sniper activity in the area of Beit Hanoun and took part in Hamas’s attacks on IDF troops,” it said.
