UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said on Thursday the UN would provide its “full support” and increase humanitarian aid to Gaza, while urging full, safe and sustained access for aid workers. “We need full, safe and sustained access for humanitarian workers; the removal of red tape and impediments; and the rebuilding of shattered infrastructure,” Mr Guterres told reporters at UN headquarters in New York. He called on member states to ensure humanitarian operations are properly funded to meet the immense needs of civilians in Gaza.
