The UN Human Rights Council and international community must do more to protect the children of Gaza, the Gulf Co-operation Council member countries said in a statement. “UNHRC and the international community [must] shoulder their responsibility in ending the tragedy of the children in Gaza and securing their right to live, safety and protection, considering [it] to be a legal, ethical and human obligation,” the GCC statement said. It was delivered by Dr Hind Al Muftah, Qatar’s envoy to the UN pffice in Geneva, at the 55th session of the UNHCR.
