A child’s body lying on a hospital bed showed the effects of severe starvation, protruding ribs in his chest, and extreme thinness, according to the graphic video footage by Ezzedine Lulu, a fifth-year medical student who acts as a doctor at al-Shifa Hospital. He documented the arrival at the hospital in the northern Gaza Strip of the first person to die of starvation.
