The Israeli army said it had attempted to kill a senior Hamas official in Gaza city, Arab and Israeli media reported. The military attacked what it referred to as two Hamas military sites in Al Shati camp and Al Tuffah neighbourhood, Israeli media said. News reports in Arabic and Hebrew said Raad Saad, a senior Hamas commander and head of its operations division, was the target of the attack.
