France could recognise a Palestinian state as soon as June, President Emmanuel Macron said. Mr Macron said France “must move towards recognition, and we will do so in the coming months”, as it prepares to host a summit with Saudi Arabia in June on the peace process in the Middle East. “Our aim is to chair this conference with Saudi Arabia in June, where we could finalise this movement of mutual recognition by several parties,” Mr Macron, who visited Egypt this week, told France 5 television.
