On the complaint of SHO Inspector Zawar Hussain, a case of bombing at a bank branch in Sher Shah was recorded at SITE-B police station as the death toll rose to 17. According to the FIR, the suspects are accused of acting with the knowledge that their activities were likely to cause harm to others.

If convicted, the accused could face a term of 10 to 14 years in prison. Inspector Hussain stated in his statement for filing a FIR that he was on patrol in the region on December 18, 2021, when Head Constable Iqbal, deputed on police mobile B-II, told him about the blast at around 1345 hours.
