The EU joined Egypt, Qatar and the US by calling for an agreement that secured a Gaza ceasefire and led to the release of hostages in the besieged enclave. “We reiterate our full support to their mediation to put an end to the unbearable cycle of suffering,” Josep Borrell, the bloc’s foreign affairs minister, said on X. “The deal will also pave the way for regional de-escalation,” he added.
