Brussels: On March 1, EU lawmakers called Russia a “rogue state” and urged the 27-nation bloc to agree on even tougher sanctions. The remarks came in an emergency debate on the war during which Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy addressed lawmakers via video-link. The European Union has taken distinctive steps after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin initiated war on neighbouring Ukraine last week.
