An Egyptian soldier was killed and three were wounded in cross-border fire with Israeli forces, sources told The National. They said the incident occurred when Egyptian forces fired warning shots at Israeli troops on the Palestinian side of the southern Gaza city of Rafah early on Monday. Israeli soldiers responded with a hail of bullets, they added.
