Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday rejected the Sindh government’s request to postpone the local body polls. It also directed provincial authorities to ensure law and order would be maintained. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja further added that the election commission should contact the federal interior and defence ministry to ensure the deployment of rangers and army personnel in sensitive constituencies of Karachi.
