Former US President Donald Trump has revealed intentions to create TRUTH Social, a new social media network.
He stated that the platform will “stand up to the tyranny of big tech,” accusing them of suppressing contrary viewpoints in the United States.
Mr. Trump’s preferred mode of communication as president was social media, which played a critical role in his presidential campaign.
However, after his followers stormed the US Capitol, Mr. Trump was banned from Twitter and suspended from Facebook.
Throughout Mr. Trump’s administration, social media companies were under pressure to ban him, with his posts being criticized as disrespectful, provocative, or spreading blatant lies.
