DHS chief says Trump has considered invoking Insurrection Act

Kristi Noem, head of the US Department of Homeland Security, tells Fox News that the president has considered invoking the Insurrection Act, which allows him to use the military domestically. “It’s up to the president. He has the constitutional right to do that,” she said. “He certainly has considered it. We’ve had discussions”. Noem continued to place blame on Alex Pretti for the shooting that killed him, saying, “We can’t have individuals that are impeding law enforcement operations and then showing up with guns and weapons and no ID and confronting law enforcement … That is one of the reasons that we see situations like this unfold.”
