JOS, Nigeria: Jihadists kidnapped and killed scores of people during Friday prayers in Nigeria’s Niger state, survivors and lawmakers told AFP. The attack occurred in Dikera village near the Benin border, where armed groups and Sahel militants have increased activity. Survivor Jibril Ahmad said fighters from Lakurawa attacked worshippers with guns, knives and machetes, accusing them of not following Islam. Nearby Binzi village was also targeted. Researchers have linked Lakurawa to Islamic State Sahel Province.
