The Gaza Health Ministry described a “catastrophic” situation at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, which is under evacuation orders from the Israeli army, where soldiers have demolished hospital walls and doctors are working in flooded emergency wards. Displaced people sheltering in the hospital had been ordered to evacuate but were being shot while trying to flee the complex, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. Medical staff and patients have been ordered to remain in the hospital, where sewage water has flooded the emergency department.
