UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that British armed forces had completed a “complex and rapid” evacuation of the country’s diplomats and their families from Sudan. The operation was carried out “amid a significant escalation in violence and threats to embassy staff”, Mr. Sunak said. “I pay tribute to the commitment of our diplomats and bravery of the military personnel…….ensure the safety of British nationals remaining in the country”, he said.
