New Delhi: On April 22, Britain and India agreed to beef up defense and business cooperation during a visit to New Delhi by Boris Johnson. Boris said that the bilateral free-trade deal could be wrapped up by October. On his first visit to the Indian capital as UK’s prime minister, he discussed with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi strategies to boost security ties with India. India’s foreign secretary, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, said that Johnson did not put pressure on Modi over New Delhi’s position on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
