Mike Bloomberg, the billionaire businessman and former mayor of New York City, thanked Cop28 President Dr Sultan Al Jaber for tackling difficult issues in global climate talks. He said the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, had “set the stage for a successful conference”. He praised Dr Al Jaber’s “willingness to tackle the especially difficult parts of the climate puzzle head-on,” in an appearance in Dubai where he announced $65 million of funding for climate action.
