US President Joe Biden has urged Israel to call for a ceasefire of six to eight weeks and allow humanitarian aid to move freely into Gaza. In an interview with Univision, Mr Biden said: “What I’m calling for is for the Israelis to just call for a ceasefire, allow for the next six to eight weeks total access to all food and medicine going into the country. “I think there’s no excuse to not provide for the medical and the food needs of those people. This should be done now,” he added.
